Public Adjuster vs. Insurance Adjuster

Your Insurance Company Has Representation.
So Should You.

Insurance Company

Insurance Company Adjuster

Works for the carrier

  • Assigned and paid by the insurance company to adjust the claim
  • Inspects and documents the damage for the carrier
  • Evaluates the scope and amount the insurance company believes is payable
  • If damage is missed or undervalued, it is up to the policyholder to identify it and continue supporting the claim
Policyholder

VIP Public Adjuster

Works for you

  • Hired by you to represent your interests in the claim
  • Independently inspects and documents the full extent of the loss
  • Builds the scope, estimate, and supporting evidence needed to prove the value of your claim
  • Identifies and addresses missed, omitted, or undervalued damage
  • Handles the insurance company from start to finish and negotiates on your behalf for the maximum settlement available under your policy

When you file a property insurance claim, the insurance company sends its own adjuster to evaluate the loss on the carrier's behalf. A licensed Public Adjuster is hired by you, the policyholder, to independently evaluate the loss, establish the full scope and value of your claim, and negotiate on your behalf.

What a Public Adjuster does

As Your Public Adjuster, We Will

Review Your Claim

We review your policy, claim documents and the circumstances of the loss to understand what has happened and what needs to happen next.

File or Reopen Your Claim

Whether it is a new claim, an existing claim or a supplement, we handle the filing or reopening process and get the claim moving forward.

Manage Communications

From there, we handle communication with the insurance company, coordinate inspections and requests, and keep you informed throughout the process.

Inspect & Document the Loss

We perform a detailed inspection to identify and document the full extent of the damage with photographs, measurements and supporting evidence.

Produce a Detailed Estimate

We prepare a comprehensive repair scope and Xactimate estimate, review it with you for approval, then submit the estimate and supporting documentation to the insurance company.

Negotiate on Your Behalf

We address differences in damage, scope, quantities, pricing and repair methodology and negotiate the claim with the insurance company on your behalf.

Maximize Your Settlement

We stay involved through resolution, continuing to advocate for the full value of the documented and covered loss.

Each step puts something concrete behind your claim: documentation of the damage, a defined repair scope, a detailed estimate, and the evidence needed to support it. From the first review through final resolution, we build and present a claim the insurance company has to address.

Every claim is different. Outcomes depend on the policy, the available coverage, and the facts of the loss.
Results cannot be guaranteed.

No Recovery. No Fee.

$0Free Claim Review & Assessment

Our Public Adjuster fee is contingent on recovery and calculated as a percentage of the settlement. There is no upfront fee to hire VIP, and if nothing is recovered, no Public Adjuster fee is owed to us.

Real claims. Real results.

The Difference Is in the Details

Property insurance claims are decided on what can be documented and supported. These real results compare the insurance company's initial offer with the final settlement recovered after VIP Adjusting stepped in to inspect, estimate, document, and negotiate the claim.

Credentials & expertise

The Experience Behind Every Claim

Credentials matter when they improve how a claim is inspected, documented, estimated, and supported. Here is what each of ours brings to your file.

Licensed Public Adjusters Why it matters: a licensed Public Adjuster is specifically licensed to represent policyholders in the adjustment of property insurance claims. Our Public Adjusters hold licenses in Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Colorado and Louisiana, and you can verify those licenses before you sign anything. Verify a licenseFLSCTXCOLA
Licensed Florida Building Contractor Why it matters: having a licensed Florida building contractor on our team brings real construction knowledge to the claim, helping us evaluate how the damage should actually be repaired and whether the insurance estimate reflects the full scope of work, including code requirements, sequencing, and related repairs. Verify a license IICRC Certified Why it matters: the IICRC writes the standards the restoration industry works to for water, fire, and mold losses. Knowing them is how we establish what proper drying, cleaning, and remediation actually requires. About the IICRC FAA Part 107 Drone Certified Why it matters: steep, high, or storm-damaged roofs get documented from the air rather than estimated from the ground, which puts real imagery behind the roof portion of your claim. About Part 107 Xactimate Certified Why it matters: Xactimate is widely used throughout the insurance and restoration industries, allowing us to build detailed line-item estimates in a format carriers commonly recognize. About Xactimate Matterport 3D Documentation Why it matters: a 3D scan preserves the property exactly as it stood after the loss. Months later, when the damage has been torn out, the record is still there and still measurable. About Matterport BBB Accredited Business Why it matters: our BBB profile lets you verify our accreditation, review complaint history, and read customer feedback before you ever pick up the phone. Read our BBB profile WIND Network Member Why it matters: WIND brings together professionals involved in windstorm insurance claims, appraisal, and dispute resolution, helping our team stay current on industry practices and developments. About WIND FAPIA Member Why it matters: FAPIA provides education, advocacy, and professional resources for Florida Public Adjusters, helping our team stay current on changes affecting property insurance claims. “We could not possibly recommend VIP Adjusting more. Five stars is not enough. They saved our sanity.”

“We could not possibly recommend VIP Adjusting more. Five stars is not enough. They saved our sanity and guided us through the viscous maze that is the world of insurance claims. After Hurricane Ian, Lance and his team were professional and calming at the most turbulent time as a home owner. They were up front about the length of time it would take to get full restitution for our claim. They cleared the way through a sea of mis-information and obstacles.”

“My home was badly damaged by Hurricane Nicole. VIP told me they would get us our best possible settlement, and they were right. The clear documentation of the impact to my home and property was evident. We were rewarded with a large settlement. If it had not been for the VIP team, there is no way we would have come out of this the way we did.”

“We have a family vacation property in Florida that had damage from Hurricane Milton... They handled everything and got us what we were rightfully owed.”

“We have a family vacation property in Florida that had damage from Hurricane Milton. We tried handling the claim ourselves and quickly realized we were out of our depth. After doing some searching we discovered we could hire our own adjuster to assist, and that is when we found VIP Adjusting. They handled everything and got us what we were rightfully owed from our insurance company. Without VIP Adjusting I am not sure what we would have done. THANK YOU VIP ADJUSTING!”
